Goal: Debate Program initiated by the OSI seeks to:
- develop youth capacity to think skillfully and critically
- examine closely issues affecting their lives
- encourage free exchange of ideas and information
- promote their active participation in social life
- foster respect and tolerance for others` ideas and opinions


Main activities of the program were:
Training on:
- debate formats (Karl Popper, Policy, Value and Parliamentary (American and British), ) for secondary school and university students, teacher and public
- speech events (extemporaneous, impromptu, radio speaking, original oratory, drama interpretation etc)
- using debate techniques in the classroom
Debate tournaments:
- school, local and regional debate tournaments
- national debate tournaments for secondary school and university students
- national debate summer camp
Annual International events:
- international debate summer camp for secondary school students
- international debate tournament for university students
- international debate conference

Participants:
* Secondary school Debate Program - more than 150 debate clubs in 21 aimags and Ulaanbaatar (about 4500 teachers and students)
* University Debate Program - 25 debate clubs at universities and colleges (about 500 participants)
